Mind Games or Madness? Las Vegas Man Claims ‘Aliens’ Ordered Him to Kill His Father
In a case that sounds straight out of a sci-fi thriller, a Las Vegas man allegedly shot and killed his own father, claiming extraterrestrial voices commanded him to do it.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, 35-year-old Timothy La was taken into custody on Feb. 5 after authorities responded to a call at a home on Caprock Canyon Avenue. Paramedics initially suspected a natural death, but when police arrived, they found the circumstances suspicious and called in homicide detectives.
What they uncovered was chilling. The victim, identified as 73-year-old Eun Jin La, had been shot in the back of the head. Investigators allege that his son, Timothy La, pulled the trigger before fleeing the scene. However, he was arrested upon returning home.
An arrest report obtained by KLAS-TV revealed disturbing details of La’s mental state. His mother informed police that her son had a medical condition, though specifics were redacted from records. When questioned, La reportedly told investigators he believed he was “saving someone—a ‘worker’—from being tortured.” He allegedly claimed the ‘worker’ was “wearing the skin of his father’s face.”
La’s delusions went even further. He reportedly told police that aliens had instructed him to kill his father and that he felt as though he was on a different planet at the time of the attack.
Court records indicate that Timothy La has been charged with open murder with the use of a deadly weapon. A judge denied him bail, ensuring he remains in custody as authorities continue their investigation into the shocking case.
The case raises unsettling questions about the intersection of mental health, reality, and crime—leaving many to wonder: Was this an act of calculated violence, or the result of a mind unraveling beyond comprehension?
